  • 14 oz (400g) Extra-firm tofu Pressed and crumbled
  • 3 tbsp (24g) Cornstarch Divided
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) Sesame oil Or avocado oil spray
  • 0.5 cup (120ml) Sweet chili sauce Glossy style
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced
  • 0.5 tsp (1g) Red pepper flakes
  • 2 tbsp Green onions Thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp White sesame seeds

Equipment

  • 1 Air Fryer Basket style preferred
  • 1 Tofu press Or heavy weights

Method
 

Prep the Tofu
  1. Press the tofu for 20 minutes to remove moisture, then crumble into a mixing bowl.
  2. Mix crumbled tofu with 1 tbsp cornstarch and roll into 1.5-inch spheres. Coat in remaining cornstarch.
Air Fry
  1. Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Spray spheres with oil and cook for 15-18 minutes until golden-brown with char marks.
Glaze and Serve
  1. Simmer sweet chili sauce, minced garlic, and pepper flakes in a pan until thick and glossy.
  2. Toss fried balls in the sauce and garnish with green onions and sesame seeds.
