For the Salmon
  • 4 6-ounce salmon fillets skin-on or skinless
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
For the Homemade Cajun Seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper adjust to taste

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
  2. In a small bowl, stir together the smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, thyme, and cayenne pepper.
  3. In a separate small bowl, whisk the melted butter, minced garlic, and lemon juice.
  4. Arrange the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the garlic butter mixture over each fillet. Sprinkle the Cajun seasoning evenly over the top, pressing gently to adhere.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C). Serve immediately.
