- In a medium mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and the packet of taco seasoning. Mix with a spatula or hand mixer until smooth and fully combined.
- Fold in the well-drained diced tomatoes and green chilies, 1 cup of the shredded cheese, and half of the sliced green onions. Stir until evenly distributed.
- Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Top with the remaining 1 cup of shredded cheese and the rest of the green onions.
- Serve immediately with tortilla chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables, or chill for 30 minutes for the flavors to meld.
