Dough Preparation
- Cream together softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar in a stand mixer for 3-5 minutes until pale and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla, mixing on low speed until just combined.
- Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture, stopping when a few flour streaks remain.
- Fold in the semi-sweet chips and dark chocolate chunks by hand. Chill dough for 30 minutes.
Baking
- Scoop 3-tablespoon sized balls onto a parchment-lined sheet. Press extra chocolate chunks into the tops.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10-12 minutes until edges are toasted golden-brown but centers remain pale and soft.
