  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened to room temperature
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chunks

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, use a spatula to cream the softened butter and packed brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract. Add the all-purpose flour and salt, mixing gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Gently fold the chocolate chunks into the cookie dough.
  5. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, about 2 inches apart.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown. The centers may look slightly underdone.
  7. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
