Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (16.3 oz) 8 count, flaky layers style works best.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 tbsp butter melted
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 stick string cheese for the laces

Equipment

  • 1 Baking Sheet
  • 1 Small Bowl
  • 1 Pastry Brush

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Separate the 8 biscuits and cut each one into quarters.
  2. Take a small pinch of the shredded mozzarella and press it into the center of each biscuit quarter, then roll the dough around the cheese to form a small ball. Ensure it's sealed well.
  3. Arrange the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet in the shape of a football. Pack them closely together so they will bake into one pull-apart loaf.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, garlic powder, and dried parsley. Brush this mixture evenly over the top of the football-shaped dough. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
  5. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the dough is cooked through.
  6. Let the bread cool for a few minutes. While it's still warm, cut the string cheese into thin strips and arrange them on top to look like football laces. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

Make sure to seal the dough balls tightly to prevent cheese from leaking out during baking.
For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of Italian seasoning to the butter mixture.
This bread is best served warm right out of the oven.
