- Activate the Yeast: In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Stir gently and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Make the Dough: Stir in the melted butter and salt into the yeast mixture. Gradually add the flour, mixing until a shaggy dough forms. Knead on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- First Rise: Place dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Shape the Breadsticks: Punch down the dough and roll it into a 1/2-inch thick rectangle. Cut into 12 strips.
- Second Rise: Place strips on a parchment-lined baking sheet, cover, and let rise for 20-30 minutes.
- Bake: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown.
- Apply Topping: While baking, mix together all topping ingredients. As soon as the breadsticks are out of the oven, brush them generously with the garlic butter. Serve warm.

Notes
Yeast Tip: Ensure your water is warm, not hot. Water that's too hot can kill the yeast, preventing your dough from rising.
