Ingredients
  

Cookie Bar Dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups red and green M&Ms divided

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla and mix until smooth.
  3. Add the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  4. Gently fold in the chocolate chips and 1 cup of the M&Ms.
  5. Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of M&Ms on top. Bake for 22-26 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  6. Let the bars cool completely in the pan before lifting out and slicing.
