  • 12 oz Chicken Sausage Pre-cooked links, sliced into rounds
  • 1.5 cups Dry Orzo Pasta Approximately 300g
  • 3 cups Fresh Broccoli Florets Bite-sized pieces
  • 3 cups Chicken Broth 720ml, low-sodium
  • 0.5 cup Heavy Cream 120ml
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil 15ml
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan Cheese 45g, freshly grated
  • 0.5 tsp Red Pepper Flakes For garnish

  • 1 Large Skillet with Lid Heavy-bottomed preferred
  • 1 Wooden Spoon For scraping the fond

Method
 

Sear the Sausage
  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced chicken sausage and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until golden-brown charred edges form. Remove from pan.
Cook the Pasta
  1. Sauté onion and garlic in the same skillet. Add dry orzo and toast for 1 minute. Pour in chicken broth, cover, and simmer on low for 8 minutes.
Steam and Finish
  1. Place broccoli florets on top of the orzo. Cover and steam for 4-5 minutes. Stir in heavy cream, seared sausage, and parmesan until a light glossy sauce forms. Garnish with red pepper flakes.
