Method
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Pat the country-style ribs dry with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, combine 1/4 cup brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Rub the spice mixture all over the ribs.
- Arrange the ribs in a single layer in a baking dish. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil.
- Bake for 2 to 2.5 hours, until the pork is very tender.
- While ribs cook, prepare the BBQ sauce. In a small saucepan, whisk together ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, 3 tbsp brown sugar, and liquid smoke. Simmer over low heat for 10-15 minutes.
- Remove the ribs from the oven and carefully discard the foil and any excess liquid from the pan. Turn the oven setting to broil.
- Brush the ribs generously on all sides with the BBQ sauce. Place under the broiler for 3-5 minutes, until the sauce is caramelized and bubbly. Watch carefully to avoid burning.
- Let the ribs rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
