- Heat 1/2 tsp of sesame oil in a small pot over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Stir in the gochujang, gochugaru, and soy sauce. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
- Add the water, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 3 minutes to let flavors meld.
- Add the instant ramen noodle block to the broth and cook according to package instructions, typically 3-4 minutes.
- Transfer everything to a bowl. Drizzle with the remaining 1/2 tsp of sesame oil. Garnish with a soft-boiled egg, sliced green onions, and toasted sesame seeds if desired.
