Method
Blender Method
- Wash and coarsely chop the ginger and turmeric. Juice the lemons to get about 1/2 cup of juice.
- Add chopped ginger, turmeric, lemon juice, water, and optional cayenne/sweetener to a high-speed blender. Blend on high for 1-2 minutes until smooth.
- Pour the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth set over a bowl. Squeeze the pulp firmly to extract all the juice.
- Transfer the juice into airtight bottles and refrigerate or freeze.
Juicer Method
- Wash produce and chop it to fit your juicer's chute. Feed the ginger, turmeric, and lemons through the juicer.
- Stir the collected juice to combine. Add any optional sweeteners or spices. Pour into bottles and store.
Notes
Wear gloves when handling fresh turmeric to avoid staining your hands. For a less intense flavor, you can dilute the shot with a bit of water or apple juice. The leftover pulp can be frozen and added to smoothies.
