Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup strongly brewed coffee or 1-2 shots of espresso
  • 1 cup milk of choice dairy, almond, oat, or coconut milk
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Coffee Spice Blend see notes for blend recipe
  • 1-2 tsp maple syrup or honey optional, to taste
  • 1/2 tsp coconut oil or ghee optional
  • 4 tbsp Ground Turmeric
  • 4 tbsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp Ground Ginger
  • 2 tsp Ground Black Pepper

Method
 

For the Spice Blend
  1. In a small jar, combine ground turmeric, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, and ground black pepper.
  2. Whisk until thoroughly combined. Store in an airtight container.
For the Turmeric Coffee
  1. In a small saucepan, gently heat the milk over medium heat. Whisk in 1 tsp of the spice blend, optional sweetener, and optional coconut oil.
  2. Continue whisking until the mixture is smooth and steaming. Do not boil.
  3. Brew your coffee and pour it into a mug. Pour the warm, spiced milk over the coffee. Froth with a milk frother if desired, garnish with extra cinnamon, and serve immediately.

Notes

The spice blend recipe makes about 10 tablespoons, enough for approximately 30 servings. You can easily halve or double the recipe. For fresh turmeric, use about 1 inch of grated root per serving.
