Making the Hot Honey
- Place a small skillet over medium-low heat and add the olive oil. Sauté the whole peeled garlic cloves for 8-10 minutes, turning frequently, until they develop a deep golden-brown crust.
- Transfer the roasted golden garlic cloves and infused oil into a small saucepan. Stir in the honey, bright red chili pepper flakes, and kosher salt.
- Warm the mixture over low heat for 5-7 minutes. Do not let it boil. Watch for the honey to thin out and deepen into an amber color.
- Remove from heat and stir in the apple cider vinegar. Let cool for 15 minutes before transferring to a clear glass mason jar.
